Here we have a short instructional video guide on the preparation and application of a product manufactured and sold by FIS Construction Products. London Portrait Photographer-Marcus Harvey shot this on location in a large basement conversion in Fitzrovia, London, with a troubled mind as to the amount of dust that could potentially end up on his sensor!
Here is the final edit of a video we shot for Bouygeus UK and FIS. The case study involved a series of interviews with Bouygeus UK site managers who were asked to outline why they had chosen FIS as a supplier and partner in this development in Central London. Along with the video we also photographed a number of employee portraits, as well as product detailing.
On Thursday we were shooting some portraits on location for The Artistry Clinic in London. As well as the photography we were also tasked to shoot a short informational video for a new procedure the clinic was offering, here is the final edit…
Making the most of the fantastic weather today for a Portraiture Shoot outside of London in the Hertfordshire Countryside. This is Georgina Howell, she is the Environmental Manager at Affinity Water Ltd.
Great times and enjoyable event photography…I had a night in the Natural History Museum shooting an awards ceremony and a day at the Sofitel at Heathrow…I was very well fed and watered!
It was lovely to meet George ‘Bill’ Lockey for an editorial portrait shoot outside of London this weekend for Hallmark Living Magazine…Bill, a 96 year old World War Two veteran had a knack for survival, and a steadfast positivity on life, he was a really interesting person to photograph and an absolute gentleman to boot.
I met the lovely Dr Margaret Rooney at the CQI photo studio in London today in order to take her photograph for an editorial piece for Quality World Magazine. I was able to use my Godox 600 Pro light for the first time as the main light source and I must say it coped very well during the portrait session, producing consistent colour balance in all of the edited portraits.
Thank you to the lovely staff at The Raj Hotel in Victoria today for sorting out an outside space for us to shoot some portraits of the Management Team of Dimension Data at such short notice. We got some lovely ambient light shots in the hotel courtyard when it was decided that the room we were to shoot the portraits in was too small.
At the Ritz Hotel, London, with my new chum Yuri, celebrating his 30th wedding anniversary with his beautiful wife Natalie. The Ritz kindly allowed us to make an impromptu shoot on the main lobby staircase and for the time pressure we had we thought we captured some really natural portraits!
On a photo assignment at Gartner Ltd, Egham, today, my task to photograph 118 corporate portraits in a 40 minute lunch break. A quite liberating photoshoot in that one had to ditch the niceties and get down to business, reminded me of my old portrait studio days at Covershots International!
An interesting piece on the future of film making that is irrevocably linked to photography, especially documentary photography and its raison d'être of ‘being there’.
“The gap is definitely closing,” Gerstenberger says, adding, “The quality’s there, and it becomes much more about the story that’s being told and the knowledge and experience of the filmmaker and the team, rather than the camera or the tool.” In other words, we’ll know that smartphone films have reached their most mature form when they aren’t a story at all.

Filming today…it is primarily a short film case study for the Mount Pleasant residential development in London, formerly part of the Royal Mail sorting office. The film included stills as well as short interview testimonials in locations around the site in East London, we got lucky with the weather, barmy!
